Interns will gain experience working with teams in Power Delivery Distribution, Substation, and Transmission.

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High School Diploma/GED


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Shoveling
  • Building switch assemblies
  • Hammering ground wire to a pole
  • Helping set up a truck with outrigger pads and chocks
  • Stocking trucks with minor material
  • Digging a conduit trench and laying conduit
  • Ladder set up
  • Guy wire coil carry
  • T-bracket/hoist with handline
  • Brace and bit/use of hand saw (Teach intern how to measure pole hole distances for framing. Use brace and bit to drill bolt holes. Show proficiency in using hand saw by allowing intern to saw a portion of pole from a pole retired from a job).
  • Knot tying (Teach how to tie knots and then have intern show proficiency by allowing intern to tie appropriate knots on the job).
  • Climb ladder/raiser and lower material (After properly setting up ladder, teach intern how to properly secure, and then use a handline to raise and lower material).
