Description

The Leasing Associate reflects the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial, adheres to the organization's Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Leasing Associate oversees the efficiency of NMHC's overall real estate holdings across all campuses. The Associate is responsible for driving associated with the NM Real Estate Portfolio and/or other related transactions from inception through signature. The Associate monitors lease-critical dates for both owned and leased properties and coordinates with Real Estate Strategy to ensure effective space utilization within the context of NM's short term and long term real estate strategy. The associate will facilitate review and analysis related to lease buyouts, distressed tenants, due diligence activities and other related matters. The Associate possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and possesses a customer service orientation, meticulous attention to detail and excellent team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for executing transactions associated with the NM Real Estate Portfolio and/or other related Transactions, including new leases, renewals, amendments, timeshares, notices and other agreements.
  • Monitors and manages lease critical dates in both owned and leased spaces.
  • Drives all leasing activities from critical date through lease signature.
  • Communicates and negotiates lease terms with the assistance of NMHC Office of General Counsel.
  • Interfaces with Real Estate Strategy, Property Operations, Facilities, and Project Management to ensure seamless real estate services across NMHC functions.
  • Communicates with and influences both internal and external groups who interact with the Real Estate Management processes.
  • Supports the financial process and reporting requirements for the leasing function and supports the development of revenue budgets.
  • Facilitates review and analysis related to purchase agreements, lease buyouts, distressed tenants, due diligence activities and other related matters; develops and presents recommendations.
  • Recommends strategic real estate efficiency, cost savings opportunities and process improvements.
  • Mitigates and escalates project risk as appropriate and in a timely fashion.


Additional Functions:

  • Other responsibilities as designated in support of organizational priorities and projects, which may include new acquisitions, dispositions, corporate restructuring or growth-related initiatives.


Qualifications

Required :

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three to five (3-5) years of solid business experience, preferably with experience in Real Estate, Finance or Legal related field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and customer service orientation
  • Proven experience working on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proficient MS Excel and PowerPoint user


Preferred:

  • Expert MS Excel user (Statistical Analysis, Charting, Advanced Formulas)
  • Experience with Real Estate Financial systems
  • Strong negotiating skills
