The Director of Strategic Partnerships and Development has the general responsibility of leading, managing, and influencing multiple national partnerships on behalf of BCBS. This includes project management of the end-to-end partner lifecycle from diligence to launch and ultimately scaling. The Director will also identify and foster new external partnerships with a variety of third party organizations ranging from nonprofits to start-ups to national corporations.

  • Lead end-to-end partnerships and strategic initiatives including day-to-day management of multiple team resources.
  • Mobilize Plan engagement and participation in pilots and national partnerships and act as primary liaison across multiple strategic efforts between BCBSA, Plans and external partners.
  • Review and present executive-level deliverables/overviews summarizing opportunities to BCBS Plans, BCBSA leadership and external partners via workgroups meetings, webinars, in-person meetings and other forums.
  • Collaborate across departments and divisions at BCBSA acting as lead for strategic efforts where projects necessitate support from the Strategic Partnerships & Development Team.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree - Required; Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, pre-med/healthcare administration or other business major.
  • Masters Degree - Preferred; Master's degree in related discipline

Experience

  • A minimum of 6-8 years of related business experience; previous positions within corporate development, strategy, program management or consulting firms
  • Experience leading complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience with managing teams / direct reports through complex initiatives.

  • Ability to problem solving, decision-making skills, strategic rationale and vision.
  • Business acumen and vision, with demonstrated ability to develop and maintain business relationships with third party organizations.

  • Analytical problem solving and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to work both creatively and in alignment with structured objectives in remote environment.
