Additional Information: **POSTING IS AVAILABLE TO ALL APPLICANTS HOWEVER, PER AFT CONTRACT ARTICLE XXVI COMPENSATION AND FRINGE BENEFITS C. 2, INTERNAL AFT WILL HAVE PRIORITY FOR NON-TEACHING ASSIGNMENTS** One 6-credit CRE position is available per writing center; this position may also be divided into two 3-credit CRE positions per campus writing center & reading lab, by faculty preference. Compensation: Course Load Reduction/Overage of (one position) 6-credits or (two positions) 3-credits per semester. Work equivalent: (one position) 6 credits = 15 hours spent in the college writing center per week. (two positions) 3 credits = 7.5 hours spent in the college writing center per week. Length of Assignment: 1st year (Spring 2024) Spring Semester. Years following: (2024-25 and forward) Fall & Spring Assignment.

General Summary: CRE Faculty Leads will work with team members to assist with facilitating growth and development in student reading; teaching necessary skills to meet students where they are, providing expertise in addressing a range of services for various student reading levels & abilities, assisting facilitators in providing meaningful direction for all aspects of critical reading.

Job Specifications:

Posting is available to full-time CRE faculty first, by seniority. However, if full-time CRE faculty do not apply for a college writing center & reading lab on a campus or campuses, then CRE adjunct faculty are also eligible for these positions.

Job Duties:
In the Writing Center & Reading Lab, Faculty Leads will:

1. Support Writing Center & Reading Lab Goals.

a. Increase retention by offering writing and critical reading support across the curriculum

b. Intentionally integrate faculty across disciplines to increase opportunities for academic success

c. Provide regular & meaningful opportunities for faculty interaction & collaboration

d. Collect and assess data relevant to placement testing, student achievement, Writing Center & Reading Lab usage & student success rates

e. Evaluate data and implement changes based on findings and assessment

f. Inform college leadership of outcomes

2. Orient faculty and students to Writing Center & Reading Laboratory materials and programs.

3. Offer brief classroom presentations upon request to promote the Writing Center and Reading Labs.

4. Maintain an organized and up-to-date Writing Center & Reading Laboratory.

5. Work with students individually and/or in groups to enhance writing and reading support.

6. Create activities, deliver workshops, and engage with faculty in the development of other academic programming.

7. Communicate regularly with the Writing Director and faculty for ongoing improvement of student offerings.

Clearance: Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College. The three clearances are Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Records Check, and Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check.
