January 31, 2011
I am pleased to announce that this year AbilityLinks is celebrating our tenth anniversary, a very important milestone that we are planning to recognize in many special ways. Here are just a few.
We will be holding two virtual job fairs during the year; one in October, during National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and another this spring during the week of April 18th. Registration information for the April job fair will be coming soon, and sponsorship opportunities for both virtual job fairs are available now. Learn more by contacting Ken Skord at kskord@abilitylinks.org or 630/909-7440.
We will also be making many changes and upgrades to the AbilityLinks website. A new look, improved navigation and accessibility, added features for premium members and faster approval of jobs and resumes are some of the enhancements you will notice. Equally important but less visible, will be upgrades to our server software and content management system. These changes will increase the speed and capacity of the AbilityLinks database and allow us to make edits to website forms and pages more efficiently.
Additionally, we will be hosting a special AbilityLinks breakfast for business in the fall featuring a top line up of speakers. Look for more information about all of these special events and activities in future newsletters and by following us on Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook.

Finally, I would like to announce a new AbilityLinks sponsor, Standard Insurance. Established in 1951, Standard Insurance has become a top provider of group insurance and retirement plans nationwide as well, as an employer that has demonstrated a strong commitment to diversity (View Standard Insurance Job Openings). Welcome and thank you for your sponsorship. Learn more about becoming an AbilityLinks sponsor.
