WHEATON, IL (April 7, 2005)– AbilityLinks.org, an award winning website that provides sources of employment opportunities for people with disabilities, announced it has entered into a partnership with CareerBuilder.com, the nation’s largest online job network with more than 600,000 jobs. Each website has links to one another’s sites, giving employers, job seekers with disabilities and community employment programs easier access to recruitment and job search information.
"CareerBuilder.com is the leading online job site with a demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity," said Ken Skord, AbilityLinks program manager. “We’re delighted to be working with them to extend the reach of the disability community in such a key area as recruitment.”
AbilityLinks, an organization founded by Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in July 2001, is a forward thinking consortium of businesses, government, agencies and non-profits committed to increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities. The centerpiece of the AbilityLinks consortium is the AbilityLinks.org website that provides a single point of contact for employers, job seekers with disabilities and community employment programs.
“CareerBuilder.com has a wide network of over 550 online partners, including multiple diversity sites that reach a potential audience of over 40 million diverse candidates,” said Amado Izaguirre, Vice President of Affiliate Partnerships at CareerBuilder.com. “Our partnership with AbilityLinks provides added resources for employers and job seekers with disabilities to connect in real time.”
AbilityLinks` recently signed agreement with CareerBuilder.com gives AbilityLinks` users exposure to new sources of employers and job seekers, while AbilityLinks uniquely offers CareerBuilder employer clients access to a pool of qualified candidates with disabilities. CareerBuilder reported that over 21 million unique visitors* went to the site in each month in January and February 2005 and it continued its 24-consecutive month lead in posting the most jobs in the industry.**
As a result of this new agreement, CareerBuilder.com is now listed on AbilityLink`s "About Us" screen under the “Partners” tab. Job seekers will find it especially helpful to be able to jump to Careerbuilder.com`s website and immediately browse the job openings. Key word searches can be done to hone one`s job search. Similarly, when on the CareerBuilder.com website, one can click on "Employers", then "Our Partners" and go directly to the list of Diversity Partners where AbilityLinks is listed. Employers seeking greater diversity among their applicants may click on AbilityLinks to find qualified job candidates with disabilities.
